Reflection on RV60: Xin Yi

In my opinion, I think that the main purpose of RV60 is to remember our school's history and bring every past and present RVians together. It is important for us to look back on our history as it carries memories of generations and there are some lessons which we learnt are not to be forgotten. It will also help remember the mistakes you have made in the past which are not to be repeated. Bringing the past and present RVians together will help us connect and get to know the whole big RV family better. Some issues that came up was the long practices that we had to endure and the rain. The practices were long and some people started to think it was unnecessary to attend all of it. They started to disappear into thin air, thinking that they will not be noticed and the performance would also go on smoothly without them. They should have been more responsible and shouldn't come and go whenever they liked. There was also rain in that period, causing the rehearsal to stop mid-way. It was the rain season and based on what I had heard from my teacher, the other teachers in charge were all praying at home, hoping that it would not rain in the preview and performance day. These situations are quite unique to the situation. RV puts our safety in the first priority and when it rains, we would not rehearse in the rain in danger of getting a cold or stricken by lightning. Although many people complained about the long hours of practices, some really devote wholeheartedly into this celebrations. The students really put in a lot of effort into RV60, and the school pride they have is really very much. We spent half of our time during the holiday practicing for RV60, making me proud to be an RVian as I saw how the seniors persevered and endured until the big day. It was also amazing how a few thousand people can put up such a wonderful performance in just 2 months time. They coordinated and tried again and again if the rehearsal was not successful or up to standards.
