The Extra in the Ordinary: Lim Xin Yi

This is in the RV campus and the photo was taken from the grandstand. It was taken during one of the RV60 practice. The emcees had to meet up to test out the microphone as the next day was RV60 Preview. Although the rainbow in this picture is very beautiful, but everyone was worried about what had caused the rainbow... THE RAIN! We were all very worried that it would rain the next evening and our efforts for 4 months would all be wasted. That day, I was with all the other emcees, Eugene, Andrea, Celina, Chloe and Pin Chen. They are mostly from different levels but soon when we got to know each other, we had lots of fun together. From writing scripts to rehearsing, we became a family.
RV60 brings everyone together. People from different ages, different classes and different CCAs. It helped us to make new friends and I really gained a lot. All the other fellow emcees shared their experiences in RV and I understood RV life better.
There were surely sweat and maybe even tears. RVians stayed back until 6 or 7PM each day to practice. We even spent half of our school holidays coming back to school for practices. But no matter how much everyone complained, we encouraged each other to persevere.
In the end, the preview was awesome. But the next day after the preview, Pin Chen went skateboarding and tore his ligament. He had to take 1 week MC and thus he cannot be the emcee for the official RV60. I think he could have been more careful and should not have went skateboarding before the actual performance, especially when he is the emcee!
